As of this year, 100% of our iconic straps are made from certified recycled plastic, using REPREVE® yarn. That's the equivalent of more than 9 million plastic bottles being put to better use tying sandals to your feet rather than landfill.
In addition to our recycled laces, we're looking for sustainable alternatives for base materials and using less water and waste in our packaging - and that's just the beginning.
We want those who come after us to have the freedom to explore the outdoors tomorrow, so we're reducing our footprint today.

172 tons of used plastic bottles are cleaned, shredded and processed into small pellets. That's over 344,000 pounds of plastic that won't end up in the ocean and be mixed up with sea turtle food.
The cleaned and prepared pellets are then spun into yarn, and this yarn is woven into the ultra-strong ribbons in our footwear. About 5,000 miles of it, in fact. That means hiking up the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada - and then back down again.
From 2020, all of our iconic straps will be made from millions of reborn plastic bottles, reducing our reliance on virgin plastic. We're turning waste that pollutes the planet into something that helps you discover it.
